REVIEW: Catchpoint Series 3 Celebrity Specials, My Thoughts On Episodes One And Four

Catchpoint closed off its most recent run of celebrity specials last night, so I thought I would take a look back at my thoughts on episodes one and four of this series.

Episode One

Not the most exciting mix of celebrities for a celebrity special, but a decent episode overall. There's some nice banter between Paddy McGuinness and Matt Edmondson, but he didn't seem to have much luck catching the balls with his fellow DJ Mollie King though.

It was at least nice to see the NHS represented with doctor Ranj Singh appearing alongside his celebrity partner Olympian Greg Rutherford, as we have a lot to thank these doctors for with this ongoing pandemic. They have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help society fight COVID-19 in these dark times, and therefore now feels the ample time to feature these celebrity doctors on the television.

Episode Four

Quite a boring mix of celebrities in this episode - especially when you compare it to celebrity editions of ITV gameshows, which tend to get a much more entertaining bunch of personalities - but it at least provided for one of its more exciting episodes in the way the game was played. It started off quite close between the two pairs, even if it did peter off more towards the end, with a clear winning pair emerging, but there was still fun to be had in the final game, when Siobhan Chamberlain failed to catch the first ball and it was up to her partner David James (both who are apparently goalkeepers, according to the episode description on iPlayer) to catch his ball in order to win the money for charity.
I can't believe they thought Love Actually was released in 2013. How could you think it was that recent?
Rugby player and former I'm A Celebrity campmate Jamie Haskell and his partner Chloe Madeley (who I gather is a fitness coach) seemed to do a pretty decent job at raising money for their charities too, and Paddy McGuinness's dig at Jonathan Ross during the question on military ranks made me chuckle.
I just wish they'd get some more outgoing celebrities. Joel Dommett last week was more the kind of famous face I want to see on a show like this.

What are your thoughts on Catchpoint? Let me know in the comments.
