REVIEW: Paul Sinha's TV Showdown - Thoughts On Series 1, Episodes Four And Five
Paul Sinha's new panel show 'TV Showdown' came to an end last night, so I thought I'd take a look back at my thoughts on episodes four and five of this new format.
Episode Four
Better than the other episodes this series (the questions are at least harder), but a format like this could still be a lot better. Paul Sinha is a poor choice of host, and the team captains Fay Ripley and Rob Beckett don't know enough about TV for this to work. Jason Manford seemed more of an expert, and he was just a guest pannelist!
Episode Five
Five episodes in, and I’m still not impressed with this series.
I thought maybe they had worked on increasing the difficulty after the previous two episodes seemed to feature tougher questions, but here we have the most simple questions on Blind Date possible.
In a quiz on television, a question such as ‘Who hosts the revival of Blind Date?’ should not be considered a difficult one to pose. And how the hell AJ Adouba didn’t know that Mulder and Scully are from The X Files, I have no idea.
What are your thoughts on Paul Sinha's TV Showdown? Let me know in the comments.
